  • Yes! Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Your donation is tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. You'll receive a receipt for your tax records.

  • We operate as the Institute of Range and American Mustang (IRAM), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our federal tax ID (EIN) is 46-0401462. You may need this information for tax purposes or employer matching gifts.

  • We accept all major credit cards for online donations. For stock gifts, mutual funds, or IRA charitable distributions, please contact us directly for transfer instructions.

  • Yes! Monthly giving is one of the best ways to provide sustained support. You can easily set up a recurring donation by sponsoring a horse or choosing a recurring contribution above. You can modify or cancel at any time.

  • Yes! If you're 70½ or older, you can make a direct, tax-free gift from your IRA to the sanctuary. These gifts can fulfill your required minimum distribution (RMD) requirements. Contact your IRA administrator and request they make a qualified charitable distribution to our organization, or reach out to us for guidance.

  • Donating appreciated securities is a tax-efficient way to support our mission. Please contact us to initiate a stock or mutual fund transfer. We’ll provide the necessary brokerage information and ensure your gift is properly processed and acknowledged.
